About our story

Get on-demand paralegal resourcing that fills urgent gaps, supports diversity, and opens real career pathways.

Our story

NextGen Legal was founded to bridge the gap between traditional legal resourcing models and the realities faced by modern legal teams.

Our founder, Nazia Jennings, has spent over 20 years working across regional law firms in Yorkshire and within a major global FMCG organisation as Senior Legal Counsel. Throughout her career, she experienced first-hand the pressures faced by both in-house and private practice teams, particularly the challenge of managing spikes in workload, short-term projects, and periods of transition without the ability to increase permanent headcount.

These challenges highlighted a clear need for a more flexible, high-quality resourcing solution. NextGen Legal was created to meet that need by providing reliable, interim legal support that delivers immediate value without long-term commitment.

Alongside this, Nazia has consistently built, led, and supported legal teams, mentoring junior talent and helping emerging professionals develop the skills, confidence, and professionalism required to succeed. This commitment to people, development, and quality sits at the heart of everything NextGen Legal does.

Many resourcing models are built on national or London centric markets. NextGen Legal was founded with a different focus. Born and bred in Leeds, Nazia brings a deep understanding of the Yorkshire and wider Northern legal market, it’s pace, its expectations and its people.

Every paralegal placed through NextGen Legal is shaped by this hands-on experience, ensuring clients receive practical, commercially minded, and dependable support exactly when they need it.

Nazia

Founder & Solicitor

Hi, I’m Nazia, the founder of NextGen Legal. I’m a qualified solicitor with over 16 years of post-qualification experience and more than 20 years of experience working across legal teams in regional law firms and a global FMCG organisation.

Coming from a minority background myself, I understand the importance of access, belief and opportunity. I’ve built my career through resilience, relationship-building and a deep commitment to delivering practical, commercial legal support. These experiences shaped the foundation of NextGen Legal.

Day-to-day, you’ll usually find me:

  • Meeting clients and understanding their goals
  • Advising businesses with clear, practical and commercial insight
  • Mentoring candidates and supporting their development
  • Listening to people’s journeys, ambitions and challenges

Seeing candidates grow, progress and realise their potential is genuinely the most rewarding part of my work.
